Learning to Understand My Patterns

I remember when I started my sessions with Tracey, I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew was that I needed help dealing with the trauma I had experienced and was still struggling with. Through the sessions, I discovered that many of the challenges I faced were patterns and cycles that began in childhood and continued into adulthood without ever being properly addressed.

Discovering Who I Truly Am

When I first started therapy, I thought I simply needed someone to talk to who could make everything feel better and take the pain away. Over time, my understanding of therapy completely changed. Therapy became less about “fixing” everything and more about discovering and delving deeper into who I truly am.

 

Working with Tracey helped me recognise the patterns, habits, and emotional responses that have shaped my life. I came to understand that many times I was reacting and not truly responding. Through therapy, I learned that some of my reactions were rooted in deep past experiences rather than the present moment itself. One of the most powerful parts of my journey was learning to recognise when my inner child was reacting and no longer allowing those wounds to make decisions for my life. I’ve learned how to pause, reflect, and respond with greater awareness instead of automatically reacting from hurt, fear, or survival.

 

One of my biggest takeaways from therapy is that life is not linear. Healing, growth, and self-discovery are ongoing journeys. I’m learning to embrace trying new things, understanding myself with more compassion, and allowing myself to grow without needing everything to be perfect.

Feeling Safe to Be Myself

My experience was wonderful. I felt safe wanted, loved, and most of it all I was never judged. She allowed me to be myself, to say what was on my mind, and grow on this platform.
